Our client was delighted to pick up an award at this year’s Salon Privé Concours d'Elegance. It was a dream of his to own a DB5, to explore touring opportunities and to enter competitions. It’s been a fantastic journey to say the least.
We first met the client three years ago at Salon Privé and at this point he had never owned a classic Aston Martin. We worked tirelessly to find him a DB5 suitable for restoration with a good history. This search took Paul (Richards of England owner) all the way to the USA, where he found DB5/2067/R. An original UK spec DB5 left in a garage and untouched since 1978. We handled the inspection, negotiation and shipping on behalf of the client.
Once at our workshops Paul worked with our client to choose a suitable build slot. Late 2019 saw the DB5 begin a 2,500 hour restoration journey at our workshops. Everything was completed in-house by our team of specialists, except the engine which was rebuilt by Aston Engineering. You can find detailed photos from this restoration on our website.
Last week, almost 3 years to the day, our client entered the concours at Salon Privé and picked up an award. A very proud moment for us all. We look forward to the future projects we have planned together. This also continues our “100% award record” for concours entries, a good barometer for anyone curious to learn about the high levels we are continuously striving to achieve.
I would like to thank the client, our team at ROE, the other specialists involved in the project and the team at Salon Privé for being part of this journey. Especially Andrew and David Bagley for providing an unforgettable experience for our client.
Happy motoring from myself, Paul and everyone at ROE.
