Skilled Classic Car Fabricator required at Richards of England​
​
We are an Aston Martin Specialist restoration company currently seeking an additional Fabricator to join our team.
​
We focus on the restoration of 'Feltham & David Brown era' Aston Martin. However, we are sometimes commissioned to work on other classic cars owned by our clients from the 50's-80's (Bentley, Jaguar, Ferrari, Rolls Royce & other Aston's.
Our work is Concours winning and we have an exceptionally high attention to detail, which is demanded by both us and our clients. Therefore, we are only interested in hiring the most experienced individuals. You must have experience working on classic Aston Martin cars and other reputable marques.
We are looking for a team player with experience in the following:
Responsibilities

Utilise hand and power tools to fabricate and assemble classic car components with precision.

Perform welding tasks, including TIG & MIG welding, to ensure structural integrity of metal parts.

Working with ox settling, for brazing work of brass material.

Experience using a Global jig or similar to measure and understand tolerances.

Panel making and beating, experience using shrinkers/stretchers and an English wheel.

Interpret technical drawings and specifications to guide fabrication processes.

Maintain an organised workspace and adhere to safety standards throughout all tasks.

Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues efficiently.

Apply mechanical knowledge and basic math skills to ensure accurate measurements and fit.

Working with and shaping ash wood on earlier cars (preferred but not essential).

Lead loading (preferred but not essential).

Experience using a tablet-based workshop system for clocking on/off (preferred but not essential, training will be provided).

To be able to work as part of a forward-thinking team. (Being a small business, working as a team and understanding what it takes to be involved in classic car restoration are important factors).

You will also be trustworthy and capable of working on your own when required.

Qualifications

Proficient in hand tools and power tools for fabrication tasks.

Strong welding skills, particularly in TIG welding.

Solid mechanical knowledge and basic math skills.

Experience with sheet metal and assembly processes.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftmanship.

We want our staff to be happy and so we offer a friendly work environment within a state-of-the-art gated community. You will also receive a competitive wage. Further to this, you will be working with some of the finest motor cars ever produced. A full personalised uniform and foot wear, including overalls will be provided.
Hours: Full-time (Mon-Fri) with the opportunity for overtime when required. A part time position would also be of interest. We can be flexible on the working week, with a minimum of 24 hours per week. We also close the workshops at 1.30pm on a Friday, to enable staff to have a great work/life balance.
